Portrait Options
Below is a list of different choices that are available to you in your pet portrait.
Sizes
The size of your portrait is completely variable. I usually let the chosen composition determine the general dimensions of the portrait, while the customer will choose how large or small the painting should be. Different sizes come with different prices. You can see the sizing charts on the page Prices.
Head or Full Body
I specialize in detailed close-up portraits of the pets head, however I also can include the full body as well. In very small sized paintings I restrict the subject to the head only, but you are free to choose in the larger sizes. If you wish to include the full body, I charge $50 extra, per body.
Backgrounds
Gradients are the normal background I use in my portraits, this can be seen in the portrait of Dexter and DeeDee. It is very effective at creating an atmosphere where your pet is all important, and compliments the image more than a plain white background would. This background choice comes at no extra cost. Detailed backgrounds are also a great option, perhaps a setting in which your pet is most at home, or a picturesque background. Depending on the complexity of the chosen background and the size of your painting I charge from $75-$175.
Number of Pets Portrayed
You may choose to have more than one pet portrayed in your portrait, however the maximum number of pets portrayed in one individual portrait is 4. You may choose head or full body.
Type of Pet
I paint any type of pet that is loved. I typically paint dogs and cats, however guinea pigs, horses, ferrets or rabbits are all possible as well. Email me if you have questions about your type of pet.
